Fantasy Football: Post Week Six Waiver Wire Adds

Should you turn the lights out on your fantasy football team? Aim to kill the morale in your leagues by being that owner that neglects their losing team. Not yet. Here’s an opportunity to hit the refresh button with some new faces to add off of Sunday’s performances.

Quarterbacks

Sam Darnold
Anyone that watched the Jets and Cowboys Sunday were probably scratching their heads. Dallas made every offensive snap the Jets ran look easy. Simple coverages were torn apart by Darnold who seems to be much more composed than last season. Throwing for 340 yards and two touchdowns has put spotlight value for Darnold going forward.

Running Backs

Alexander Mattison

Mattison showed Sunday the flashes we saw in pre-season. If Minnesota runs a faster paced offense there is reason to believe Mattison can continue to be of value. Of course their offensive success and play calling will hinge on if Kirk Cousins can avoid faltering.

Brandon Bolden
With Rex Burkhead out Bolden has stepped in and been a viable option. He vulture a touchdown from Sonny Michele against the Giants and is a better pass catcher. With the high volume targets the Patriots backs get there is no reason to not try and stash Bolden.

Latavius Murray
Each week Sean Payton has adjusted his play calling to put his team in best position to win. This week Payton ran Murray and also utilized him out of the backfield in a low-scoring game against the Jaguars. Murray did not disappoint with nearly eighty combined yards.

Chase Edmonds
The Cardinals are finding ways to utilize Edmonds even with David Johnson on the field. With persistent issues with Johnson’s health it’s safe to say that Edmonds value will not diminish. But be leery of the recent strong matchups that Edmonds took advantage of against the Bengals and Falcons.

Benny Snell
The Steelers used a run heavy approach to aide their third string quarterback. It paid off and showcased rookie Benny Snell’s skillset. Even when Mason Rudolph is back one would like to see the Steelers continue with this approach with Snell.

Wide Receivers

Auden Tate
With Tyler Boyd blanketed by the Ravens coverages, Auden Tate was able to fill the void. Tate has had value before this season but was dropped in several leagues prior to Sunday. With AJ Green’s injury status and return unknown Tate will likely now be a hot pickup. With the Bengals winless and likely to continue losing it’s great to have a receiver that can get easy fourth quarter catches.

DK Metcalf
With Russell Wilson now ahead of Patrick Mahomes as an MVP candidate it’s time to look at all Seahawks as fantasy weapons. MetCalf went into Sunday in CBS Leagues owned in 67 percent. That’s far too low for the Seahawks offense and MetCalf’s potential.

Darren Fells
Fells continues to show off his nimble feet and agility as a pass catching option for the Texans. For the second week in a row Fells dotted the fantasy relevancy in the tight end position. This week he nearly equaled his season output in one game for receiving yards with 69. One has to wonder if this will be it for Fells from a fantasy stand point or can he continue to rise.
